Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Senior Salesforce Developer to join our growing team in Richmond. This role is ideal for someone with 6+ years of hands‑on experience in Salesforce development who is eager to expand their skills and contribute to impactful CRM solutions. You will work closely with senior developers, business analysts, technical/solution architects and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain Salesforce applications that support our business operations and customer engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of custom Salesforce applications. Understand when to extend Salesforce using declarative development (Flows, App Builder, Page layouts, Custom Objects) and when to customize using code written in Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
- Design and implement scalable solutions that align with business goals and Salesforce best practices.
- Leverage AI-powered Salesforce tools such as Agentforce, Einstein GPT, Einstein Bots, and predictive analytics to enhance user experience and business insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, business analysts, and cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Manage integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware, and third‑party tools.
- Oversee code reviews, testing, deployment, and release management processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within the Salesforce environment.
- Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, new features, AI capabilities, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Salesforce development and administration.
- Advanced proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and Salesforce Flows.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, and security.
- Experience with integration tools (e.g., Mule Soft, Dell Boomi) and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Familiarity with Dev Ops practices, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification required; additional certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect) are a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering complex Salesforce solutions in enterprise environments.
- Agile & SAFE Participation:
Engage in Agile/SAFe processes like daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives. Contribute to scaled agile ceremonies and workflows. - Experience using AI tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot) to generate code.
- Knowledge of cloud environments and integrations (APIs, middleware, Mulesoft).
- Background in enterprise IT environments with compliance or regulated industries.
- Hands‑on experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and familiarity with the principles of the SAFe framework.
- Ability to guide technical teams and influence strategic decisions.
- Skilled at solving complex problems and identifying root causes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Works effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
- Passion for coaching and developing junior talent.
