Database Architect 4 – Richmond, VA (Hybrid). Candidate within 2 hours drive.

The Investment Decision Support team is seeking an experienced Senior ETL Developer with strong database, programming, and analytical skills. The team serves as the primary data stewards for the Investments Department, connecting data to investment analysis by overseeing all aspects of the data management life cycle.

• Assist with overall ETL support, including development, production support, and documentation.
• Monitor and maintain existing ETL processes.
• Design, develop, and implement ETL packages with SSIS.
• Provide SQL development support: create stored procedures, views, etc.
• Perform performance tuning: review SQL queries, execution plans, partitions, and indexes to enhance performance for long-running queries.
• Offer alternative data manipulation approaches, such as converting Excel manipulation activities into SSIS packages to reduce cycle time.

• 7+ years of experience in ETL and SQL development.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services.
• Experience writing technical documentation (requirements, process maps, etc.).
• Excellent communicator with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
• Team-oriented with demonstrated collaborative experience.
• Self-directed with strong independent work capability under high-level guidance.

• Experience with data governance best practices and procedures.
• Experience in the investment/financial markets industry.

This position is a contract basis for approximately 12 months with potential for extension.
