Rate: $60/hr on W2
Position DescriptionSeeking an experienced AWS Security Developer to support enterprise-wide cloud security initiatives across a large, multi‑account AWS environment. This role plays a critical part in securing cloud infrastructure, strengthening IAM governance, enhancing CI/CD security, and driving automation for compliance, monitoring, and threat detection. The position partners closely with Cloud Engineering, Dev Ops, GRC, Audit, and Application teams to embed security across the full cloud lifecycle.
Ideal candidates bring strong hands‑on expertise in AWS security tools, Terraform automation, secure serverless development, and incident response.
- Implement and maintain AWS security controls, guardrails, and baseline configurations across multi‑account environments.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and integrate security automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Build, review, and secure AWS Lambda functions and serverless applications.
- Manage and enhance AWS‑native security services including Security Hub
, Guard Duty, Config/Config Rules, Cloud Trail, KMS, VPC Security. - Oversee IAM strategy, including policy reviews, identity federation, least‑privilege enforcement, and secrets management.
- Perform risk assessments, threat modeling, vulnerability mitigation, and configuration reviews.
- Drive security automation for drift detection, patching, remediation workflows, and compliance reporting.
- Respond to AWS security events; conduct investigations, root cause analysis, and provide remediation plans.
- Maintain runbooks, playbooks, incident response plans, and escalation paths.
- Support SA&A, NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP readiness and assist with audits, evidence gathering, and gap remediation.
- Guide Dev Ops and engineering teams on secure cloud development best practices.
- Evaluate new AWS architectures for security compliance and approve or reject proposed designs.
- Report security risks, KPIs, and metrics to senior leadership.
- Participate in on‑call rotations to support 24/7 production systems.
- 6+ years of experience in cloud security or cybersecurity.
- Strong experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
- Hands‑on expertise with AWS security services, IAM, KMS, encryption, Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, and VPC security.
- Advanced proficiency writing and reviewing Terraform modules
. - Experience developing and operating AWS Lambda functions.
- Strong scripting skills using Python or Bash
. - Ability to perform IAM audits, interpret access logs, and analyze AWS account configurations.
- Experience securing large‑scale, multi‑account AWS organizations.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Cloud Practitioner).
- Security or audit certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM).
- Experience securing containers and orchestration platforms (EKS/ECS).
