This is a hybrid role with 80% Cloud Engineering duties and 20% Server Admin responsibilities.
THE ROLE
Design, implement, and maintain scalable technology assets leveraging AWS cloud technologies. Provide end-user support, system administration, and problem resolution in our mixed Windows Server environment (Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022).
The client’s Developmental Services’ Office of Information Services and Technology (IS&T) is seeking a Cloud Engineer with intermediate expertise in solution development within a modern cloud-based ecosystem.
The role involves hands-on solution engineering on the AWS cloud platform, designing APIs, automating cloud infrastructure provisioning, implementing security best practices, and applying Dev Ops methodologies to streamline development and deployment processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Implement and maintain full-stack cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- Build responsive and user-friendly front-end applications using React, Node.js, and Type Script.
- Leverage native cloud services to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs tailored for cloud environments using AWS API Gateway.
- Implement cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
- Adopt cloud security best practices, including IAM.
- Implement serverless computing and event-driven architecture using AWS Lambda and AWS Dynamo
DB. - Automate cloud infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via AWS Cloud Formation, AWS SAM, and Terraform.
- Script and automate tasks using Python.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting with AWS Cloud Watch and Cloud Trail.
- Optimize deployment pipelines for CI/CD using AWS Code Build, Code Deploy, and Code Pipeline.
- Collaborate with senior team members and business owners to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that improve the customer experience.
- Assist in designing scalable and resilient cloud engineering solutions aligned with business needs.
- Ensure comprehensive testing, security compliance, and operational stability of solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives and participate in technology skill-enhancement programs.
- Provide Microsoft server and network administration support, including end-user and vendor support.
- Use personal computers, analyze data, document procedures, resolve technical issues, prepare reports, and provide desktop system support for users with varied technical knowledge.
- Operate and administer Windows Servers and various SaaS environments.
- Intermediate proficiency with the AWS Cloud Platform and familiarity with standard software engineering industry best practices.

- Passion for learning new technologies and staying updated on tech trends.
- Experience in on-prem (Windows Server), cloud, and hybrid infrastructure, with a focus on delivering scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.
- Industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect/Developer – Associate level).
- Microsoft Server Engineer certifications.
- Windows Server Administration (Server 2019 & Server 2022) – 10 years required.
- Intermediate proficiency with AWS Cloud Platform – 5 years required.
- Strong experience implementing full-stack web applications leveraging React, Node.js, Type Script and serverless back-end APIs – 5 years required.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, Node.js) – 8 years required.
- Solid understanding of version control (Git), Dev Ops practices, and CI/CD pipelines – 5 years required.
