Network Engineer

Base pay range: $60.00/hr - $70.00/hr location:
Richmond, Virginia, United States (On-Site). Term: 2-year contract.

Works with VSP IT team to implement and provide support to the agency’s IT Network infrastructure. Performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of VSP’s Network related infrastructure. Candidate must have in-depth and considerable knowledge and experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure and cabling.

• Considerable knowledge and working experience with Cisco routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot)
• Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure.
• Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.
• Works closely with agency’s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date.
• Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
• Oversee the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency building data network cabling infrastructure.
• Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and Dev Sec Ops  teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.
• Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required.
• Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
• Must have obtained Cisco CCNP/CCDP or CCIE certification(s).
