The Special Projects Manager, IT, reports directly to the CIO. The Special Project Manager, IT, is responsible for managing all aspects of designated large-scale technology initiatives. This position requires that the Special Project Manager be able to proactively identify technology-centric opportunities for business process improvement; be a creative problem-solver with a keen eye for detail; as well as have experience with technology project and process management.
This position will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing related best practices to support business application and system enhancement. They will also be responsible for serving as an internal consultant and project manager relative to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, to include reporting progress to plan, status updates, and facilitate team meetings.
- Review project request documents, create initial project plan through requirements and create project roadmap.
- For assigned projects, document functional/non-functional requirements, create communication and risk plan, update overall project plans.
- Generate task lists and level of effort estimates, create resource plans, review detailed design specifications, update project plans.
- Assist with coordinating and scheduling user acceptance testing.
- Assist with coordinating and scheduling of rapid response team training to include other training as identified.
- Update project documentation and create project closure documents to include project tracking software.
- Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, systems and applications.
- Prepare reports and presentations to present process improvement initiatives.
- Track and monitor progress on improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain documentation of existing and updated processes.
- Provide training and support to ensure successful implementation of process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment with process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with technology leadership to ensure proper project focus prioritization and partnership within the department and organization alike.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
