PositionPurpose:
We are looking for a Technical Support Specialist who will serve as a trusted resource for both Electrical Equipment Company (EECO) and it’s external customers. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication skills to deliver high‑quality assistance for industrial automation products and solutions. You will work in an office‑based environment, providing remote support and guidance to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
This role does not manage people. You will report to the Automation Group Manager for Central Virginia and will be located out of EECO’s Richmond, VA branch.
Primary Responsibilities:- Customer Support: Provide timely and accurate technical assistance to external customers via phone, email, and remote tools.
- Internal Support: Assist EECO’s sales, engineering, and operations teams with product selection, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, motor control and industrial networking.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of support cases, solutions, and technical best practices.
- Training & Enablement: Develop and deliver training sessions for EECO’s teams and its customers on product features and applications.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with new technologies, product updates, and industry trends to enhance support capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, industrial automation products and control systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2+ years in industrial automation, technical support, or related role.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products and CAD experience
