Senior Platform Engineer – Azure Data Platforms & Dev Ops

Richmond, VA - A Hybrid schedule of both Remote and In-Office days is required. In office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST.

As a Senior Platform Engineer - Azure Databricks, Confluent Kafka & Dev Ops within the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) organization, you will play a critical role in enabling modern data, analytics, and integration capabilities across the Genworth | Care Scout enterprise by designing, implementing, automating, operating, and supporting the foundational platform services that power secure, scalable, reliable, and governed data products.

This role focuses on engineering and operating enterprise platform capabilities including Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Confluent Kafka, Terraform, Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops, Azure Data Factory, observability platforms, security controls, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and shared data platform services. You will work closely with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Service Operations, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Application Engineering teams to deliver reusable platform capabilities and automation frameworks that accelerate data modernization while maintaining enterprise standards for security, compliance, reliability, and operational excellence.

You will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for defining and promoting platform engineering standards, reusable Terraform modules, automated deployment patterns, and Dev Sec Ops  best practices across the enterprise data ecosystem. A significant portion of this role is dedicated to driving automation, infrastructure standardization, self-service capabilities, and continuous delivery through Git Lab and Azure Dev Ops. This is a team-based individual contributor role focused on platform engineering and operational excellence.

You will be responsible for building and continuously improving the Azure Databricks, Confluent Kafka, Terraform, Git Lab, and Azure Dev Ops foundation that enables application and data engineering teams to deploy, integrate, govern, monitor, and manage data workloads efficiently, securely, consistently, and through automation-first and self-service delivery models.

Design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Azure Databricks, Confluent Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab, and related data platform services across the enterprise. Lead the design and development of enterprise Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, including reusable modules, platform blueprints, policy enforcement, environment provisioning, configuration management, and automated deployments. Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and Dev Sec Ops  automation frameworks utilizing Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops, Terraform, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and deployment orchestration.
