Virginia Tax is seeking an experienced Senior Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support for employee workstations, laptops, software, and peripherals. The role focuses on troubleshooting technical issues, supporting laptop refreshes, maintaining computer systems, and delivering effective customer service.

Job Description:The technician will support desktop and laptop environments, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, install and configure applications, and use remote support tools to resolve workstation issues. The role also involves reviewing recurring technical problems, analyzing customer feedback, and helping improve support services.
Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, peripheral, and network issues.
- Support Windows 11 or higher, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Microsoft 365.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware and software.
- Assist with laptop refresh activities.
- Use SCCM/SMS, Remote Desktop, Dameware, and similar tools to support workstations.
- Troubleshoot computer systems, including drivers and BIOS.
- Run reports and analyze recurring complaints to identify areas for improvement.
- Gather customer feedback and recommend improvements to technical support.
- Communicate clearly with users and colleagues and collaborate with the support team.
- Adapt to new technologies, tools, and procedures.
- At least 4 years of experience working with computer hardware, software, drivers, BIOS, and related systems.
- At least 4 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues and applying analytical and problem-solving skills.
- At least 4 years of experience in customer communication, technical support, or related service activities.
- At least 4 years of experience gathering customer feedback, reviewing recurring complaints, or identifying service improvements.
- Working knowledge of Windows 11 or higher, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of PC hardware, peripherals, networking, and laptop refresh processes.
- Experience with SCCM/SMS and remote support tools such as Remote Desktop or Dameware.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
- Strong customer service, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise desktop environments and large-scale laptop refresh projects.
- Experience using reports to identify recurring technical issues and improve support processes.
- Pay Rate: $40.95 per hour.
- 100% onsite from the first day.
