Director, Technical Program Management - Business Cards & Payments

What You’ll Do:

The Business Cards & Payments team's mission is to help businesses do more business. We are building a dynamic software ecosystem that helps small business owners reduce friction, save time, and create massive leverage across their operations. As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM), we’re looking for someone that can help us deliver on that mission by leading programs for critical business goals and building scalable products that create exceptional experiences for our Small Business Card customers.

In addition to the technical program, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, by leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve. Contribute to the organization’s TPM / Delivery strategy: establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling that scale across portfolios Drive development of and alignment on program roadmap anchored in business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and sequencing of dependencies Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks, influencing technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost and resiliency Ensure definition of measurable outcomes of platform success (availability, scalability, cost efficiency, developer velocity) and ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs

• 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service oriented architecture (SOA)
• 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS
• 3+ years experience building highly scalable products & platforms
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
• 3+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you contribute to the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact
• Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
• 3+ years of people management experience or influencing organization as an IC
