Power Platform/Copilot Studio Governance Roles: (individual profile should be Microsoft centric with relevant certifications, started off with power platforms, last 3 years working on Copilot Studio and governance aspects)
Location :
Atlanta, Houston, NYC / if not remote is also ok.
Reports to:
Platform Owner, Power Platform CoE
Primary focus:
Operating the platform control regime, Copilot Studio production assurance, ALM engineering, and L3 support
Goal:
Operate and scale the governance and readiness controls that govern Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio in production, so that control execution is repeatable, auditable, and independent of any single individual.
Scope boundary:
Platform standards, readiness criteria, and control definitions are set by the Platform Owner. This role implements, operates, enforces, and evidences them, and recommends changes based on operational findings.
Implement and enforce the CoE's governance standards across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio
Apply and maintain guardrails for data access, connector usage, DLP compliance, and environment strategy per the defined environment model
Assess solutions against the defined production readiness criteria (logging, monitoring, ownership, fallback) and produce the evidence record supporting each assessment
Surface gaps and failure patterns to the Platform Owner as recommended changes to standards
Copilot Studio Operations and Solution AssuranceOperate the agent lifecycle process - development, testing, promotion, production - against the defined lifecycle controls
Maintain and extend the reusable agent patterns library (topics, orchestration, escalation paths, human-in-the-loop controls)
Conduct design reviews against the published standards and record findings; escape exceptions and standards conflicts to the Platform Owner for ruling
ALM EngineeringBuild, operate, and extend the ALM tooling and deployment pipelines that enforce the defined environment strategy
Engineer solution structuring and packaging automation
Ensure every promotion between environments is governed, automated, and auditable
Reduce manual intervention in the promotion path
Secure Platform AdministrationOperate and automate platform administration - provisioning, access control, policy enforcement - within the defined control model
Enforce controls on environment creation, role-based access, and privileged operations
Ensure administrative activity is automated, logged, and audit-evidenced
Monitoring, Reliability, and Maker EnablementBuild and operate the platform monitoring stack; own L3 incident management and root cause analysis
Drive preventive engineering - automation, runbooks, tooling - against systemic issues identified in RCA
Build the self-service maker experience (onboarding, templates, guidance) that reduces CoE dependency for routine tasks while preserving controls
Key Deliverables- Governance controls operating consistently across all three services, with an evidence trail
- Automated, auditable ALM pipelines
- Platform administration executed through automation rather than manual privileged access
- Measurable reduction in recurring incidents through root cause elimination
- Self-service maker path that does not bypass controls
