The primary purpose of this position is to underwrite new business and renewals in a profitable manner and according to authority level and established guidelines and participate in special projects having an impact on the business. Assigned larger and more important agents/brokers. Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges. Understand state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within each state.

Knowledgeable in coverage forms and policy language; appropriate utilization of forms and exclusions. Assist with resolving premium audit disputes within assigned agents/brokers. Able to provide coaching to others. Ability to appropriately train and underwrite Crime and Tenant Discrimination coverages.

• Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
• Understand state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within each state.
• Knowledgeable in coverage forms and policy language; appropriate utilization of forms and exclusions.
• Assist with resolving premium audit disputes within assigned agents/brokers. Able to provide coaching to others.
• The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to cultivate new, productive relationships with producers within the Southeast region of the US.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred;
• 5+ years' experience underwriting management liability coverages;
• Industry designations such as RPLU are a plus;
• Experience in wholesale distribution channel;
• Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze and understand policy language;
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and timelines;
• Demonstrated sales and marketing skills including the ability to utilize data to organize efforts;
• Ability to coordinate efforts with support staff to maximize overall productivity;
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Teams;
• Up to 25% travel.
