Job Duties

  • Analyze, investigate, and prosecute suspected violations of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act, including provisions regarding the sale of substances containing tetrahydrocannabinol (“THC”).
  • Analyze, investigate, and prosecute violations of other state and federal consumer protection and antitrust laws as needed.
  • Prepare written materials and appear in appropriate state or federal court in civil actions filed against alleged violators.
  • Provide legal advice to client agencies, draft official opinions, review proposed legislation, and work with counterparts in other states and federal agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage complex enforcement cases; well‑developed oral and written communication skills; and the ability to interact effectively with state/federal government officials, a diverse workforce, and the general public.
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of litigation experience in state and federal courts, concentrating on consumer protection or similar matters.
  • Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar.
