Parts and Service Manager - Bobcat Construction Equipment Dealership

Location: Richmond, VA |

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Parts and Service Manager to lead the parts and service operations at our Bobcat construction equipment dealership. This key leadership role is responsible for building a high-performing team, delivering an outstanding customer experience, improving department performance, and ensuring customers receive the parts, repairs, and support they need to keep their equipment working.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, coach, schedule, and develop parts and service team members.
  • Oversee daily department workflow, work orders, repair scheduling, parts availability, and customer communication.
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor productivity, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive parts and service sales by identifying customer needs, following up on opportunities, and building lasting relationships.
  • Review estimates, repair orders, warranty claims, invoices, and departmental reports for accuracy and timely completion.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory levels while improving turns, fill rates, and obsolete inventory management.
  • Ensure technicians have the tools, parts, information, and training needed to complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and create practical solutions that strengthen customer confidence.
  • Partner with sales, rental, and branch leadership to support equipment deliveries, customer commitments, and dealership goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
  • Manage department expenses, staffing, and operating results to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Support Bobcat programs, product updates, warranty requirements, and service initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • Three or more years of leadership experience in equipment, automotive, truck, agriculture, rental, or a related service environment.
  • Working knowledge of parts, service, repair processes, work orders, warranties, and inventory management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach employees, set priorities, and hold a team accountable.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment.
  • Comfort using dealership management systems, manufacturer portals, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic financial understanding, including labor recovery, margins, expenses, budgets, and departmental profitability.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or an associate degree is preferred.
  • Bobcat or compact construction equipment experience is preferred, but strong related industry experience will be considered.

Physical and Work Requirements

This position regularly works in an office, parts department, shop, and equipment yard environment. The employee must be able to communicate effectively, move throughout dealership facilities, safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation, and work around construction equipment, noise, dust, weather conditions, & any other sounds..
