About the Opportunity

This is a rare chance to step into the pharmaceutical industry without prior pharma experience. Our client, a fast-growing U.S. manufacturer, is building a state-of-the-art facility in Hopewell, VA, and they’re looking for experienced process engineers to join their team.

If you’ve worked in FDA-regulated, GMP, or other highly regulated industries (chemicals, food, Cosmetics, etc.), this is an excellent opportunity to transfer your skills into pharma and play a direct role in reshaping U.S. domestic medicine production.

Why Join?
  • Impact: Be part of a mission that secures the U.S. supply chain of essential medicines.
  • Growth: The business is scaling fast, offering strong career development and future leadership opportunities.
  • Environment: A start-up style culture where adaptability, hands-on problem-solving, and ownership are valued.
What You’ll Do
  • Scale processes from lab/bench through pilot and into full commercial production.
  • Lead tech transfer and process scale-up, ensuring smooth transition from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Write and maintain clear batch records and SOPs, working closely with operators.
  • Troubleshoot plant equipment and processes, performing RCA and driving continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with scientists, operators, and supervisors to optimize production.
  • Conduct process safety analysis, hazard assessments, and handle dangerous chemicals with strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Recommend and evaluate plant equipment to support both small- and large-scale operations.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years’ experience in Process Engineering within a regulated industry (FDA, GMP, chemical, food, etc.).
  • Hands-on plant and equipment experience – not just design, but practical operation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of chemical handling and process safety.
  • A “can-do,” start-up mindset – adaptable, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or related).

Whether you want to remain technical or move into leadership, there are clear paths for growth, with opportunities to progress into management as the company expands.

Interview Process
  • Virtual interview with the hiring team
  • Follow-up discussions with key stakeholders
  • Onsite visit to meet the team and see the facilities
