What We're Looking ForWe are seeking an experienced Assembly Team Lead to join our Richmond, BC team. This key leadership role requires a blend of technical expertise, team management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Duties Include- Forecasting assembly order work by reading ahead on the production scheduler, evaluating labour hours, planning your department’s workday in order to optimize workflow to achieve maximum production efficiency.
- Coach, engage and motivate assembly team to meet on‑time delivery goals, reduce rework, and quality control rates while minimizing material and time waste.
- Communicate with the assembly team by leading the Daily Huddle meetings to discuss KPI’s, attendance, upcoming large orders, machine maintenance, S.M.A.R.T goal assignments to individuals, and current announcements to improve collaboration.
- Regularly evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and facilitating growth. Implement training programs and initiatives to enhance team skills and efficiency. Address accuracy or quality issues immediately and monitor for improvement. Write timely reviews in order to give feedback.
- Training and Cross‑training:
Train or delegate training or cross‑training of new Team Member or existing Team Member including but not limited to Part‑time, Seasonal or Casual Staff. - Safety and Compliance:
Uphold health, safety, and compliance standards within the department. - Communicate and enforce Company Policies through consistent application of policies and clear communication to entire team.
- Communicate with the Production Manager, Assistant Production Manager and other Departments to ensure smooth, accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Develop a sound knowledge and maintenance of machines, instrumentation and tools in order to lead efficient and timely order fulfillment.
- Overseeing team motivation and workflow efficiency, attendance, work focus in order to optimize on‑time delivery.
- Hands‑on assembly of products, utilizing machines and hand tools according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Perform quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet high Jukebox Print standards.
- Present insightful departmental reports and updates to senior management. Provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making. Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes.
- Inventory Management:
Help manage inventory to ensure accurate tracking and availability of materials, tools, supplies. - Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of work area, machines, tools and equipment and keep a log for inspection.
- Troubleshoot challenges that may arise during the assembly process.
- Interest in growing personally and professionally.
- 2 to 3 years of management experience.
- Solid commitment to detail and accuracy in your work.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to multi‑task and work effectively with other team members.
- Fast‑paced production team lead experience with knowledge of KPI metrics.
- A Technical College or University degree in a technical discipline is an asset; however, candidates with a High‑School degree combined with relevant career‑acquired experience are welcome.
- A production‑minded, intuitive thinker is preferred who is willing to learn basic instrumentation or technical experience.
- Working experience in hands‑on, attention‑to‑detail technical manufacturing roles is an asset but not required.
