Job Overview
The Director of Operations & Engineering will be responsible for Phlow's production facilities. This role includes building reactors to support Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) process. This role may also include optimization of production processes. The candidate will support the CDMO business to ensure business objectives are met and for execution of the internal Phlow API development projects. In this role, the candidate will contribute to the API development projects to ensure milestones are met, projects are on time and on budget.
The candidate will ensure excellence in the engineering aspects of Phlow's manufacturing facility. The candidate will personify Phlow's shared values and culture, both internally and externally. The candidate will work with the highest standards of safety, integrity, transparency, and ethics to create win‑win scenarios for patients, customers, partners, and colleagues.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ethical leadership qualities in the improvement of Safety, Quality, and Cost and Delivery performance measures for the facility.
- Directs and manages plant operations for production, scheduling, maintenance, quality, engineering, and shipping and receiving.
- Cooperates with management team in formulating and establishing company policies and operating procedures.
- Leads, evaluates, coaches and trains manufacturing personnel.
- Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
- Develops and controls profits, plans, and budget.
- Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures.
- Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
- Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment.
- Experience in process safety management.

- Incorporates shop floor organization and plan cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Provides direction, development, and leadership to production supervisor.
- Responsible for aiding in own self‑development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
- Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and Supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
- Experience in new plant start up.
- Ability to work in a cross‑functional team environment with changing timelines and priorities required.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously.
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
- Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel.

- In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing best practices, safety regulations, and quality control methods.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and strategic planning abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
