Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Team is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Product Stewardship Fellow role with a client in the specialty materials manufacturing industry. As part of the Product Stewardship department you will be responsible for leading internal and external Hazard Communication (Haz Com) initiatives for all facets of operations. You will be responsible for authoring, issuing, and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS Documents) for new and existing raw materials, process intermediates, and finished goods, and generating product labelings pursuant to the Globally Harmonized System of hazard labelling (GHS).
- Author SDS Documents as part of the chemical review and materials qualification process for new raw materials, potentially hazardous intermediates, and newly developed products
- Lead Hazard Communication initiatives for raw materials classification, finished products, and experimental/non-commercial new product samples
- Serve as site expert in the Globally Harmonized System of classification and labelling chemicals (GHS)
- Classify goods for bulk transportation pursuant to Department of Transportation regulations
- Manage database of safety training information and hazard communication documents for training employees on the handling of new materials or other new safety protocols
- BS in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industry Hygiene, Occupational Health and Science, or other highly relevant field
- 4+ years of experience authoring SDS documents and creating GHS labels in a manufacturing space
- Software background in programs such as SAP, ExESS, etc
- Understanding of hazardous material transportation regs DOT, IATA, etc
- Working knowledge of global chemical control laws and regulations such as REACH and TSCA
- 4 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or chemical R&D
