- Schedule and coordinate the flow of work within or between departments of the manufacturing plant to expedite production.
- Review master production schedule and work orders, set priorities for specific customer orders, and revise the schedule per work order specifications, established priorities, and availability of workers, parts, materials, machines, and equipment.
- Collaborate independently and with cross‑functional members of production, quality, engineering teams to ensure timely production of high‑quality finished goods and meet expectations.
- Generate new ideas and provide enhancements to improve the process.
- Create a production plan based on the master schedule for the production lines and balance the plan according to internal capacities and constraints.
- Update production orders to reflect changes in BOMs.
- Expedite and assign priorities to production orders in ERP/AS400, cascading priorities to internal material supply chain.
- Champion cleaning material back‑flush issues at close of work orders and drive accountability from production and engineering.
- Provide information to the master scheduler and planning supervisor about production order and expedite status for effective communication to internal and external customers.
- Coordinate reschedules of production orders based on material availability.
- Process and track material rejects for internal suppliers for evaluation and scrap processing.
- Maintain solid working knowledge of BOMs, routings and operations.
- Leverage the internal ERP system (AS400) to schedule production lines efficiently and effectively.
- Review inventory levels and customer orders and recommend system adjustments to achieve high levels of internal customer service while maintaining low inventory.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, partners, and vendors.
- Identify parts used on the assigned product line and verify placement location on the product.
- Utilize modeling data and obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations and recovery scheduling.
- Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Understand procedures for ordering supplies used in the work area.
- Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation.
- High School Diploma.
- 3+ years of Materials and Logistics/Planning experience in a demanding complex manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.
- Knowledge of planning systems and understanding of materials movement and utilization on the production floor.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
- Ability to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs).
- Full proficiency in MS Office products.
- Ability to develop cross‑functional relationships and interact effectively with others in a team environment.
