Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled 3rd Shift Painter. The role involves operating machinery to remove rust from metal parts and applying paint using specialized equipment. Training will be provided on day shift or 2nd shift, with regular hours from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.
Responsibilities- Operate a joystick‑controlled sandblaster to remove rust from metal parts.
- Use an overhead crane to load parts onto hooks for transport into the paint machine.
- Operate a sprayer to paint parts inside a booth.
- Perform machine setup and equipment maintenance following Standard Specifications and SOPs.
- Execute quality checks and inspections as needed.
- Participate in team performance and improvement meetings.
- Follow all company policies.
- At least 5 years of industrial painting experience or 10 years of general painting experience.
- Proficiency in operating a paint booth, sandblasting, and using a paint sprayer.
- Experience with powder coating, overhead crane operation, and machine operation.
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required within a certain time of conversion to a permanent role (Company offers a GED program).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs+ (40 lbs+ independently).
- Capability to regularly walk, sit, and reach for extended periods.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
Work in a climate‑controlled, organized, and large manufacturing facility where all sections are clearly labeled based on materials and production. The environment emphasizes a 5S culture, ensuring a neat, clean, and orderly workplace. Consistent work schedule 10 pm‑6:30 am Sunday‑Thursday.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
