Operations Leader For Generator Repairs
The Operations Leader for Generator Repairs will provide direct supervision to the Generator work group at our manufacturing repair service center in Richmond, VA. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning while also meeting assigned objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and provide production leadership to assigned teams to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost initiatives. Provide on‑going support in scheduling resources and facilitating the workflow to meet customer requirements. Develop or enhance knowledge of technical knowledge of generator repairs. Assist Cell Leader with decision making in areas of process improvement and / or production to make appropriate resource decisions to facilitate execution of repairs processes.
Coordinate all first line activities (i.e. Methods, Production Control) to assure the meeting of safety procedures, production schedules and customer satisfaction, cost goals, and maintaining the highest standards of quality across multiple shifts. Solve problems, set direction, eliminate process waste, own visual management through Daily Management System for the department. Perform administrative duties to support the business (not limited to time sheet review and approval, labor vouchering, requisitions for material, workforce schedules).
Practice sound human relations and communications skills to influence team. Review production orders and implement production schedules. Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems, take corrective measures to resolve safety concerns, minimize downtime and interruption of schedules. Coach and motivate team in safety, quality, individual performance / development, and productivity improvements. Manufacturing supervisor.
Associate's Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing role. Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, repair or services environment. Prior leadership experience in similar industry (IE : Lead, Influencer, SME).
Eligibility RequirementsWilling and able to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays when needed. Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future. This position is 100% onsite at the GE Richmond Service Center.
Desired CharacteristicsPower Generation or Heavy Industrial leadership experience. Experience in Generator Rewind and Repairs and / or Power Generation industry. 3+ years prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Lean Manufacturing. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Strong team building skills. Knowledge of manufacturing operations and practices. Ability to counsel and motivate workforce. Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
The base pay range for this position is $81,700.00 - $. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus / variable incentive compensation. This posting is expected to close on July 4, 2025, or thereafter.
The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
