Assistant Operator - Gluing - Night; Rotating

The Assistant Operator plays a key role in ensuring efficient and compliant operations on the production line. This position supports machine operators during changeovers, assists with troubleshooting, and may operate machinery when needed. The Assistant Operator is responsible for training new feeder/packers on quality standards and production speed, maintaining accurate records in SAP and on required documentation, and communicating any production or equipment issues to supervisors and team members.

• Train new packers on quality and speed.

• Record scrap in SAP.
• Record data on specified forms and complete required line documentation.
• Communicate production and machine issues to the supervisor and other production personnel.

• Maintain production supplies and materials in the work area.
• Perform housekeeping and machine sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• Knowledge of the use of hand tools and the ability to use hand tools. Knowledge of machine operation and electronic and/or manual machine controls to operate the machine and run production.
• Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and machine operating procedures. Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work area.
• Ability to work in an operating environment that may include a machine configuration that requires interface with packers and feeders.
• Basic mathematics (i.e. counting), basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or trade school preferred

• 3+ years of equivalent experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment with 6+ months of machine operator experience

• Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
• Our Manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year.

• Able to continuously use hands and fingers to position items and arms to reach as needed.
• Able to frequently bend, move about the work area.
• Able to occasionally remain in a stationary position, ascend and descend steps, push and pull objects.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Lifting 50 pounds occasionally.
