Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be an essential part of the Operations Department supporting various manufacturing functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Richmond, VA
Pay Range: $18/hr
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm
What's the Job?- Receive, retrieve, transfer, and store parts and materials for manufacturing operations.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read work orders and follow verbal instructions to move materials accurately.
- Inspect product loads for accuracy and safety before movement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum one-year experience in shipping/receiving and material handling in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with RF scanners is helpful.
- Strong communication skills and ability to read and write in English.
