Position Description
The Director of Development will support and work in collaboration with the Chief Impact Officer and Leadership Team to implement the fundraising and communication efforts for JFS.
Duties and Responsibilities- Implement fundraising and communication efforts for JFS.
- Organize and direct all Annual Fund operations including developing appeal material, coordinate mailings, and follow-up strategies for 3 letters per year. Develop and grow individual annual donor base.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with donors, donor prospects, community partners, and other potential partners. Identify major donors and prospects. Develop and implement personalized major donor plan for each targeted donor.
- Ensure that all thank you letters, other gift and acknowledgements and contacts are accurate and sent according to JFS standards and the Law of 7 thanks.
- Work with Chief Impact Officer to effectively steward and grow the JFS Founders Society.
- Maintain donor database (eTapestry) record management and tax and thank you letters (with-in 7 days).
- Provide experienced advice to assist with the strategy and implementation of JFS fundraising efforts.
- Works with the Chief Impact Officer to develop and implement needed fundraising events including fundraising, volunteer recruitment, logistics and day/night of event.
- Write and produce blog content to share with JFS donors and friends. Assure that multiple blogs are prepared to share 6-7 times per year through Constant Contact newsletter. Write and submit monthly material for the Reflector newspaper.
- Work with Social Media and Production Assistant to assure that JFS Communication meets brand standards, is on time, and on message.
- Serve as coordinator for the production of development and marketing materials.
- Other development activities, as assigned.
- 2 to 4 years’ experience in fundraising with high-level. Non-profit organization preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, fun in-office environment.
- Experienced writing for various audiences; general public, donors and friends, print publications, Annual Report
- Skilled presenter with superior interpersonal skills; relationship builder
- Computer literate and technologically proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experienced in donor database systems, E-Tapestry or Blackbaud (Razors Edge) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Job Type: Salary, Exempt, Full-time, In-Office
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
