Senior Pastor, Full-Time

Ridge Baptist Church is located in the Three Chopt District of Henrico County, Virginia. We are seeking a Senior Pastor with a genuine sense of calling to be our pastor, one who will lead us into a new season of ministry. We value a collaborative leadership style and a pastor who can use their personal gifts and skills in genuine ministry.

Our primary church values are worship, relationships, community, and missions. Sunday worship is the guiding force for all we do, with services that include laypersons alongside the pastor, and where children are welcomed into active participation. People are a priority for us. Ridge is a mid‑size congregation, often described as a “small‑size” feel in a larger building. We cherish close relationships inside our walls and in our community.

Two non‑English language congregations make their home in our church building. The church also hosts a child development center that serves a diverse community of families and staff. Missions is at the heart of who we are—both locally and globally, with several members having served as missionaries or personnel with the IMB and SBC. Ridge is characterized as a broad‑minded fellowship in the Virginia Baptist tradition.

We affirm the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message Statement as indicative of our core beliefs. As a church, we have been engaged in a self‑study and focused thinking about our future. We want to build creatively upon the resources of our heritage and desire for our church to mirror the surrounding community. We anticipate our new pastor will lead us to follow the Spirit’s call and direction.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

• Provide biblical preaching and teaching that shapes our worship and daily discipleship.
• Lead with a collaborative style that equips members for ministry and fosters shared leadership.
• Offer pastoral care through presence, visitation, counseling, and encouragement.
• Partner with staff, deacons, and committees to coordinate ministries and missions.
• Encourage faith formation for all ages, welcoming children, youth, and adults into active participation.
• Represent Ridge in community, denominational, and mission connections.
• Attend to administrative leadership with transparency and integrity.
• Pursue ongoing spiritual and professional growth for effective ministry.
