We are actively hiring for 2025 and 2026 Nurse Residencies. Join the HCA Nurse Residency Program at Johnston‑Willis Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, and take advantage of a $10,000–$15,000 sign‑on bonus for qualifying units. The year‑long program gives you hands‑on experience, mentorship from nurse educators and experienced nurses, and the support you need to transition from student nurse to registered nurse.

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Johnston‑Willis Hospital provides a paid, structured path with advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, hands‑on simulation evaluation, mentorship from nurse leaders, and a collaborative evidence‑based practice project.

What will you do in this role- Assess patient condition during admission and throughout each shift, identifying, reporting, and responding to changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient therapeutic response, and intervene as appropriate when an unintended medication response occurs.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs and resolve proactively to provide exceptional care.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into understandable language.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Other certifications may be required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse license or graduate nurse status in the State.
- No previous experience required.
- Some travel may be needed for training.
