• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions.
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.

• Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to the specialty.

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult‑gerontology, pediatrics).

• Active and unencumbered APRN license in Virginia.
• National certification as an NP in a recognized specialty (e.g., AANP).

• Preference for at least one year of clinical experience in a relevant specialty, though exact requirements may vary.

• Locum tenens NP positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months.
