Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional patient care in our mother‑baby unit. In this role you will provide direct nursing care to new mothers following delivery, both routine and with postpartum complications such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and/or high blood pressure, as well as routine newborn care for their healthy infants. What you will do in this role:

  • Deliver patient‑centered nursing care to mothers following delivery, educating them on what to expect post‑delivery and what to watch for in terms of postpartum complications.
  • Deliver patient‑centered nursing care to the newborn and participate in family education, including preparing new mothers to take care of their newborn.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, obstetricians, perinatologists, IBCLC lactation consultants, and patient care staff to support patients and participate in patient and family education.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain cultural awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co‑workers and other customers.

What qualifications you will need:
