Position: Clinical Administrator - Registered Nurse (RN) - Rotating

Overview

This job serves as an administrative resource and performs management functions during non-business hours (evenings, nights, holidays and weekends) for the institution. This job assists hospital staff in problem-solving service delivery issues between and within departments. It provides an administrative presence to address patient/family issues related to service delivery and identifies systems problems during non-business hours that contribute to service delivery issues.

It also assists staff in problem-solving related to the medical and/or nursing care of patients.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an administrative resource during non-business hours to support staff and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Identify and problem-solve issues related to patient care and service delivery across departments.
  • Address patient and family concerns related to service delivery and facilitate resolution.
  • Identify systems problems during off-shifts and weekends and communicate recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Licensure/Certification
    :
    • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for licensure, or eligible in a compact state.
    • Current RN licensure in Virginia for continued employment.
    • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience
    :
    • Required: Minimum of five (5) years of acute care clinical experience.
    • Required: Minimum of two (2) years of nursing management experience.
    • Preferred: Nurse Manager or Supervisory experience.
    • Preferred: Academic health care experience.
  • Education/Training
    :
    • Required: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
    • Preferred: Masters Degree in Nursing or other related field from an accredited program.
  • Independent action
    :
    • Has full authority and accountability for actions and decisions within the scope of the position description and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Supervisory responsibilities
    :
    • N/A
  • Additional position requirements
    :
    • Works with a small team to provide coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

    :
    • Physical: Lifting less than 20 lbs.
