Infusion Team OverviewMake a difference with our Infusion team! Located on the 5th floor of the Adult Outpatient Pavilion, the Infusion Clinic provides vital care to oncology patients and other medical patients with acuity ranges from well-managed chronic conditions to acutely ill. Our nurses provide our patients the compassionate care they need during their stays and are responsible for our patients’ safety while administering life‑saving chemotherapy, biotherapy and other hazardous medications.

Our nurses develop a special skill set and become credentialed to hang oncology medications.
Our clinic hours are 7am-7pm. This role is 5 8's from 7am-3:30pm. We require some flexibility to work late shifts and some holidays and will have weekend hours in the future.
QualificationsAt least 1 year of LPN experience, preferably inpatient, is required and previous oncology experience is preferred.
Role ResponsibilitiesThe LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level. The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age‑specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
Licensure, certification or registration varies depending on the incumbent's employment background and transitional assignment; LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible.
Certification Requirements for Continued EmploymentCurrent LPN Licensure in Virginia, AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.
Experience RequirementsVaries based on transitional duty assignment.
Preferred ExperienceExperience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.
Education/Training RequirementsGraduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.
Independent Actions RequiredFollows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignment.
