The Crisis Receiving Center is a 23-hour crisis program that offers rapid stabilization, reduction in crisis symptoms and observation in a community-based setting and provides alternative to emergency hospital usage and psychiatric hospital admissions. The program provides ongoing assessment, crisis intervention and clinical determination for level of care to individuals in behavioral health crisis for up to 23 hours.
The Withdrawl Management program assists residents with the use of medications to safely withdraw from alcohol and opiates. Provides 24-hours evaluation, observation, medical monitoring and addiction treatment by licensed health care professionals in an inpatient setting to adults ages 18 years and older.
Job SummaryProvide leadership and oversight for nursing operations across designated programs or facilities. Supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards, coordinate care delivery, and support program-level initiatives. Serve as a liaison between nursing teams and executive leadership.

Supervise nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and Nurse Practitioners
Ensure nursing coverage across multiple locations and shifts
Monitor documentation quality and timeliness (e.g., concurrent documentation within 24 hours)
Facilitate weekly medical team meetings and participate in treatment planning
Provide guidance on best practices, workflow management, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with clinical teams on admissions and client interventions
Participate in program-level improvement initiatives
Conduct supervision meetings with nursing staff
Other duties as assigned
Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
— Education and Experience
- Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in nursing
- 3–5 years of experience in behavioral health or medical nursing
- Registered Nurse license from the Virginia Board of Nursing (required)
- CPR and CPI certifications
- OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that demonstrates the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position, as permitted by applicable regulatory standards.
- Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with agency policy.
- Experience supervising nursing teams or clinical operations
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Training in trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing
- Experience in psychiatric, detox, or residential settings
- Knowledge of nursing standards, medication protocols, and safety regulations
- Skill in managing staff, coordinating care, and resolving clinical issues
- Skill in communicating effectively with clients, staff, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to identify potential problems and implement solutions
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and lead difficult conversations
- Ability to organize information and maintain accurate records
- Ability to learn and retain processes through instruction and apply them independently
- This position has full supervisory authority over assigned staff. Evaluates and signs performance reviews, approves timecards, and administers rewards/discipline. Officially supervises full-time employees (not temporary/seasonal employees). Not a ‘lead worker’ position.
