Description:
This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the Intensive Care Unit, specifically in Neuroscience care.
The nurse will be responsible for the care of ventilated patients and patients with ICP monitoring.
Experience in administering and monitoring procedural sedation is strongly preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with the care of stroke patients and have overall 3's and 4's in the Neuro section of the skills checklist.
The unit typically manages a daily census of around 26 patients and operates with a total of 28 beds.
Interdisciplinary support is available from various services including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.
Candidates should be prepared to float within the scope of the unit if necessary.
A BSN is preferred.
