Avanciers is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer for an exciting opportunity with one of our Fortune 500 clients
Role:Quality Engineer
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Duration: 6-Month Contract with potential for extension or conversion
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer 3 to support quality assurance, manufacturing quality, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree, strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills, and solid technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electronics components, with preference for electrical/electronics experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, inspection checklists, Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters, and Q-gates.
- Monitor and analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) metrics and implement strategies to improve product quality and production efficiency.
- Investigate customer complaints, perform thorough root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during customer audits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and certification audits including UL, CSA, and ISO.
- Perform Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) analysis and implement initiatives to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Map manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects focused on quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Apply quality and problem‑solving methodologies including FMEA, 8D, 5 Why, SPC, DMAIC, Kaizen, Poka‑Yoke, 5S, and other quality tools.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on complex quality issues and support improvements in customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Ensure quality processes and products comply with applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience
, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. - Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills with hands‑on experience using structured quality methodologies.
- Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electronics components, with electrical/electronics experience preferred.
- Experience with quality tools including FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen, Poka‑Yoke, SPC, DMAIC, and 8D Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with standards such as UL1561, NEMA ST-20, IEEE C57.12.01, IEEE C57.12.91, DOE 2016, UL891, and CSA C22.2.
- Experience supporting customer, manufacturing, certification, or quality audits.
- Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
