Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, SOM, Stravitz-Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease, Cohort
The Stravitz‑Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and Metabolic Health is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Arun Sanyal’s lab. The institute focuses on tackling liver diseases with new approaches to prevent, reverse, and cure them. Our team of specialized physician‑scientists conducts cutting‑edge research through benchmark studies and clinical trials across a broad spectrum of liver‑related diseases and conditions, collaborating with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions to accelerate translational research.
This 12‑month appointment (renewable for 1‑2 additional years in one‑year increments based on performance and funding) will focus on developing computational and analytic methods for large population‑scale datasets. You will work with multimodal imaging, lifestyle, and genomic data—including UKBiobank, TriNetX, and EHR data—to translate discoveries into clinical practice.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, or related fields.
- Excellent computational skills: proficiency in R, Python, R Shiny, and high‑performance computing.
- Strong record of scientific contributions, publications, and presentations (primary or key author on major papers).
- Experience with large‑scale data; familiarity with imaging analysis, image registration, and natural language processing is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and shift priorities to meet deadlines.
- Creativity, curiosity, high energy, and a passion for advancing biomedical science.
- Independence, scientific rigor, and critical thinking.
Salary Range: $62,232
