The Transportation Officer is responsible for securely transporting detainees and ensuring vehicle safety and maintenance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips.
- Provide written Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and report safety defects.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and safety equipment are in order before trips.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
- Secure detainees properly during transport and ensure all paperwork is complete.
- Follow all safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures during transportation.
- Report accidents immediately with detailed information.
- Deliver vehicles for servicing and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of experience handling prisoners or as a law enforcement, corrections, detention, or military police officer.
- At least 21 years old.
- U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license.
- 80 hours of verified driver’s training.
- State Firearms and Security Guard Licenses.
- Completion of certified training in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
- Clean driving record with no preventable accidents or suspensions in the past three years.
- Pass company and DOT drug and alcohol tests.
- Ability to work overtime, travel, and handle physical and mental stress.
- Ability to work up to 16 hours within 24 hours, be physically alert, and work with computers.
