Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Armed Facility Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct regular patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This role requires carrying a firearm and driving as part of your responsibilities.
You will interact with visitors and staff, providing outstanding customer service and communication, while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach.

What You'll Do:
- Provide exceptional customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Conduct regular and random patrols, both inside the facility and around the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
- Monitor access points and control entry to restricted areas, maintaining awareness of all individuals entering or exiting the location.
- Observe and report any unusual activities or security-related incidents in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
- Support law enforcement or emergency personnel as needed during incidents, following established procedures for government locations.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
