Wastewater Technician II

** PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Diagnose mechanical problems and apply advanced troubleshooting skills.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on wastewater treatment equipment such as conveyors, screens, thickeners, screw presses, ultrafilters, chemical dosing systems, pumps, and piping.
* Repair or replace parts as directed by work orders; complete accurate service reports.
* Overhaul or replace machine components and worn items.
* Communicate with lead operator and/or wastewater operators for clarification of problems; discuss preventive techniques with equipment users.
* Perform preventive maintenance according to standard schedules.
* Maintain, repair, and install PVC/CPVC pipe, HDPE pipe, odor systems, and negative pressure systems.
* Install and set up new equipment; communicate with vendors regarding maintenance schedules.
* Follow all safety policies and procedures.

* QUALIFICATIONS:

*** Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training or ability to pass class upon hire.
* Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Effective communication with operators, team members, and vendors.
* Commitment to safety practices and compliance with regulations.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

* MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

*** 2 - 4 years of prior related experience as a wastewater technician or related experience.
