Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Overhead Crane Installation Technician to join our team. This position involves installing, servicing, and maintaining overhead crane systems at customer sites. The role is split between time working in our Ashland shop and traveling to job sites, typically in two-week rotations. This is a hands-on position for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working at heights, and willing to put in the hours required to complete jobs safely and correctly.
Schedule& Work Environment
Average 55–60 hours per week. Job sites often require 12-hour workdays until installation is complete. Typical rotation: ~2 weeks working locally in the Ashland shop ~2 weeks traveling for crane installations. Travel is usually driving to job sites. Must be comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments.
Responsibilities- Install overhead crane systems and related components
- Perform crane service and maintenance when not installing
- Use hand and power tools, including torque wrenches
- Assist with rigging, lifting, and positioning of crane components
- Read and follow installation plans, drawings, and safety procedures
- Work safely and efficiently as part of a team
- Maintain punctuality and a strong work ethic on job sites
- Mechanical, iron working, or electrical background required
- Electrical experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience using hand and power tools required
- Rigging experience preferred
- Must not be afraid of heights
- Ability to work long hours and travel regularly
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction
- Dependable, punctual, and hardworking
Experienced technicians are encouraged to apply. Entry-level or younger candidates will be considered if they have relevant mechanical or electrical aptitude and a strong desire to learn.
