Communications Foreman -Richmond, VA

Overview

A Communication Foreman I is responsible for the installation of communications cabling and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and standards. As a Foreman, you should have experience installing equipment involving the use of hand tools and power tools, a basic understanding of Telecom Systems, blueprints, and knowledge of relevant codes and standards. Telecom Foremen are full-time employees with company benefits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations:

• 5+ years experience in the commercial communications industry
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug test
• Reliable transportation to and from the job site
• Punctuality, teamwork, and maintaining a safe work environment
• Dress code: long pants and a shirt covering shoulders (not provided by the company)
• Provide basic tools from the provided list before first day of employment

Physical Abilities:

• Lift at least 100 pounds at once and 60 pounds for extended periods
• Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance
• Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and balancing on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders
• Perform routine movements: walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead
• Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and ability to communicate in English
• Use standard ladders with tools within weight limits
• Recognize potential problems (problem recognition, not solving)
• Apply general rules to specific problems to generate sensible answers
• Identify details within close range
• Understand spoken information and ideas
