Job Description

This position is located in Castalia, NC paying $178 a day in per diem.

We are seeking 5 experienced Solar PV Electricians to support utility‑scale solar projects with a primary focus on DC electrical systems. This role involves performing DC mapping of PV arrays, verifying open‑circuit voltage (Voc), and conducting DC health diagnostics to ensure all strings, combiner boxes, and associated wiring are installed correctly and operating as designed. The electrician will troubleshoot electrical issues such as incorrect polarity, continuity problems, damaged connectors, and under‑performing strings, while supporting commissioning, quality assurance, and system turnover activities.

Candidates must be comfortable interpreting electrical drawings, one‑lines, and PV layouts, and performing field documentation in accordance with NEC requirements, project specifications, and site safety standards.

Lots of overtime potential and $178 a day in per diem.

Responsibilities
  • Perform DC mapping of PV arrays.
  • Verify open‑circuit voltage (Voc) and conduct DC health diagnostics.
  • Ensure all strings, combiner boxes, and associated wiring are installed correctly.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues such as incorrect polarity, continuity problems, damaged connectors, and under‑performing strings.
  • Support commissioning, quality assurance, and system turnover activities.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, one‑lines, and PV layouts.
  • Perform field documentation in accordance with NEC requirements, project specifications, and site safety standards.
Essential Skills
  • Strong experience working on utility‑scale solar DC systems.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of PV array wiring, combiner boxes, and string testing.
  • Proficiency in DC mapping, Voc testing, polarity verification, and DC troubleshooting.
  • Skilled in using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, megohm meters, and IV curve tracers.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and construction documents.
  • Strong understanding of NEC solar requirements.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced field environment.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • NFPA 70E certification is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
