Job SummaryThe OHE Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables. The Foreman ensures crew safety, tracks employee hours, conducts daily and weekly safety briefings and inspections, and manages project utility locations. The position oversees the Line team and collaborates with various departments.
Responsibilities- Obtain all necessary materials for the job and ensure all permits and licenses are in place.
- Oversee work related to each project and assume full responsibility for its quality and timeliness.
- Comply with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to Mas Tec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections.
- Disseminate information and ensure understanding of safety briefings.
- Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing when required.
- Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires and cables to terminals.
- Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product.
- Perform construction work in various conduit systems and open excavations.
- Climb utility poles and/or use an aerial lift truck to place cables on poles as per system design.
- Drive, haul, and operate equipment to assist crews in completing work.
- Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six years of experience in electrical or related field.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Eight or more years of experience, including extensive supervisory and training experience.
- OSHA 20 Certification.
This job operates in a field environment. Tasks routinely involve extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and standing. Work is performed in inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position requires good vision at 20 feet and precise hand‑eye coordination.
