Our valued client based in Richmond area is seeking a Research Assistant to support the research and breeding of hoverflies for crop pollination. This hands-on role involves regular work in a breeding shed, together with occasional field work placing hoverflies in crops.

A significant part of this role is performed in a breeding shed where strong odours may be present. Interested candidates will have an opportunity to inspect the work environment as part of the recruitment process.

• Feed hoverflies and maintain breeding cages.
• Clean cages and keep breeding areas hygienic and orderly.
• Mix and prepare feed in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with research and breeding activities.
• Undertake occasional field work, including placing hoverflies in crops.

• High attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures consistently.
• A practical, reliable approach to hands-on research and animal-care tasks.
• Ability to work safely around bees, which may occasionally be present.
• A forklift licence is desirable and may be considered when determining the starting pay rate.

• Hold a current driver's license.
