A Day in the Life of:

As a member of our team, you will provide Supported Employment Supports to persons with disabilities who are referred to the Supported Employment Team s individual will be responsible for coordinating and implementing employment support. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provides direct/indirect job coaching and support to persons with disabilities identified for Supported Employment
  • Implements activities using specified training techniques and interventions related to but not limited to developing, maintaining, and strengthening employment skills
  • Provides direct/indirect job coaching and employment supports when assigned staff is absent or needs assistance
  • Provides transportation, when necessary, by agency vehicle when required
  • Completes all documentation for assigned caseload in a timely manner
  • Completes all assigned tasks related to program objectives as defined by the Director of Workforce Development
  • Identifies program problem areas and recommends solutions to the Supported Employment Team and Director of Workforce Development
  • Assures compliance with agency policies and procedures related to safety, discrimination/harassment, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and the agency's human rights plan
  • Obtains and maintains certifications in CPR/First Aid and TOVA throughout employment

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a degree related to working with individuals with disabilities or employment. Preferred ACRE Certification and/or Certified Support Employment Professional
  • Must have two years of experience in Supported Employment or Pre-Employment Transition Services
  • Ability to create relationships with employers and individuals to create a network for employment of persons with disabilities
  • Ability to develop and implement a person first individualized employment plan
  • Awareness of the needs of persons with disabilities, with the ability to apply positive behavioral support in meeting their needs
  • Creatively solve issues related to perceived barriers to successful employment of assigned clients
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Able to work and communicate with families, governmental agencies, other agencies, employers, and people with disabilities
  • Holds a valid driving license with an acceptable driving record and maintains driving eligibility during employment. Must pass a SOAR
    365 driving test for specific agency vehicles
