We’re Hiring:
Housing Specialist – Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)

Location:

Richmond, VA | Full Time | $21 - $27 per hour

As a Housing Specialist
, you’ll help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families secure stable housing and connect them to vital resources that foster independence.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct housing assessments and track client progress to meet program and funding requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure all housing documentation is complete.
  • Perform rent reasonableness testing and assist with temporary financial assistance payments.
  • Enter accurate data into HMIS and coordinate care with case managers, VA personnel, and community partners.
  • Build strong relationships with landlords and property managers to expand housing opportunities.
  • Recruit property owners willing to work with veterans facing housing barriers.
  • Transport clients to essential community resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support housing stability.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field. Minimum of two years of direct experience in housing services may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Experience with homeless populations and/or veterans preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
