Deputy Director – Community Brain Injury Services

Community Brain Injury Services (CBIS) is a private non‑profit agency serving individuals with brain injuries in the Metro Richmond, Tri‑Cities, South of Richmond, and Hampton Roads’ Peninsula and Middle Peninsula areas.

At CBIS we work with individuals who have sustained a life‑altering brain injury to regain independence, rebuild self‑confidence, re‑engage in their community, and connect to resources needed for safe, independent living. We are currently hiring for a case manager to work in our Richmond office and serve clients in the Metro Richmond area.

Position Summary

Full‑time case managers provide case management services to adults with brain injury.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting intake and assessment of service needs.
  • Coordinating services among providers.
  • Developing and monitoring service plans.
  • Advocating, consulting, and educating clients, families, and the community.

This community case manager position is based out of our Richmond Administrative and Case Management Office and requires traveling throughout the Metro Richmond area. Two vehicles are assigned to case managers; therefore, an excellent driving record and a reliable personal vehicle are mandatory. Candidates must be self‑starter, independent, and able to meet clients throughout their service area.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of two years of case management experience OR experience working with persons with disabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license; good DMV record.
  • Access to a reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).
Compensation & Benefits

The starting, probationary salary for this position is $47,500 annually.
