Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Salesforce Developer to design, develop, and deploy solutions within the Salesforce platform to support business workflows for Medicaid Integrity Institute (MII) Event Coordinators and Expense Specialists. The role involves hands‑on development to enhance operational efficiency and create a unified workspace for these functional teams. As a Salesforce Developer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
You will play a crucial role in supporting state Medicaid agencies' program integrity efforts as a member of the MII team.
Design and implement a tailored Salesforce workspace to support event management workflows, expense submission, tracking, approvals, and reporting functions. Gather and refine requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Integrate Salesforce with external systems and tools as required, following GDIT integration standards and API best practices. Ensure platform stability by troubleshooting issues, conducting root cause analysis, and providing ongoing enhancements.
Implement Salesforce security models, including profiles, permission sets, and field‑level security, to support user roles and data access needs. Follow Agile development practices, participating in sprints, backlog grooming, testing, and deployments. Contribute to documentation, training materials, and change management to support user adoption.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field; equivalent experience accepted. 3–5+ years of hands‑on Salesforce development experience. Experience designing user‑centric solutions to support business processes and workflow optimization. Strong understanding of Salesforce development lifecycle, version control, and deployment strategies. Hands‑on experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, or custom application development. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Dev Ops practices (such as Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce DX).
DESIREDQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Salesforce Platform Developer II, Salesforce Administrator, or other relevant Salesforce certifications. Experience supporting event management, expense processing, or related operational workflows. Experience with Salesforce Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and API integrations. Knowledge of data modeling, data migration, and data quality best practices within Salesforce. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical solutions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional and non‑technical stakeholders.
At GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do.
