The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is hiring a PTVan Driver. This postion will transport Marshall Center members to and from psychosocial rehabilitation center. Maintains appropriate customer service skills with individuals served and community members. Manages predetermined route daily. Is responsible for maintaining safety for individuals being transported. Maintains gas in assigned van and reports any maintenance concerns to Administrative Coordinator or Clinical Program Manager Senior immediately.
Provides transportation for clients and staff across RBHA programs and facilities. Ensures safety, punctuality, and adherence to route schedules and service protocols. Maintains vehicle cleanliness, monitors condition, and supports logistical coordination.

- Transport clients and staff to appointments, programs, and community locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining punctuality and safety
- Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance needs
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicles
- Assist clients with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility devices as needed
- Complete mileage logs, trip documentation, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with program staff regarding transportation needs
- Adhere to agency policies, traffic laws, and safety protocols
- Support logistical coordination for fleet access and availability
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
— Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- 1–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or customer service
- Ability to operate agency vehicles safely and responsibly
- OR?an equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that demonstrates the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position, as permitted by applicable regulatory standards.
- Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with agency policy.
- Experience transporting individuals with behavioral health or mobility needs
- Familiarity with fleet management systems and vehicle maintenance protocols
- CPR/BLS certification and Safety-Care or equivalent training
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and agency transportation policies
- Skill in operating vehicles and assisting passengers safely
- Skill in time management, route planning, and documentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
- Ability to identify potential problems or detect when something may be likely to go wrong
- Ability to learn and retain processes through instruction and apply them independently
- This position does not supervise or function in a lead worker capacity.
- Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, including the human body. This role requires regular movement throughout the workday, including walking, stair climbing, and driving to community-based locations. Employees must be physically capable of navigating varied environments such as residential facilities, urban areas, and client homes. - Close concentration and visual attention required.
- Normal working conditions. Work is typically performed in a standard behavioral health environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards.
