Overview of RoleThe opportunity has arisen for a Junior Management Accountant to join our small Finance team based in Maple Cross on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role will report to our Group Finance Controller and support our Chief Finance Officer with day‑to‑day finance activities across our US and UK entities whilst delivering the highest level of service to internal and external stakeholders.
This is an intermediate‑level position and would suit somebody who is interested in progressing a career in finance. Must be able to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Liaise with the internal Factory team and US and UK Account Managers and raise customer invoices for New Business and Renewals.
- Perform weekly reconciliation between Hub Spot and Sales Reports to ensure all sales are invoiced.
- Complete monthly Bean Box reconciliations for both entities to validate forecasted renewals.
- Raise invoices for warranty costs and intercompany recharges between UK and other group companies.
- Calculate and process invoice for inter‑company Management Fees.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable, proactively following up on overdue invoices and prepare month end analysis of aged debtors.
- Produce month‑end billing reports for both entities.
- Prepare and process month‑end journals and Balance Sheet Reconciliations for accrued income, depreciation, prepayments, warranty provisions, bad debt, and cost accruals and other balance sheet adjustments.
- Prepare workings for monthly installation accruals and calculate sales commission.
- Maintain deferred income schedules for calculating accrued income and deferred cost for bundled contracts.
- Prepare monthly payroll report for US entity and reconcile cost to General Ledger.
- Produce group analysis for Advertising and Marketing cost.
- Review VAT coding to support accuracy of quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare sales tax report and validate returns against payments.
- Liaise with US sales tax advisors to resolve outstanding queries.
- Prepare supporting schedules for annual US tax filings and apply for Annual Tax Certificates.
- Assist in the implementation of Finance process improvements and drive efficiencies in the roll‑out of new products and other business operations.
- Any other ad hoc accounting duties.
- Strong educational qualifications (particularly Maths and English)
- Part qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / completed AAT Level 3 or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping within a Finance team in a similar role
- General understanding of VAT
- Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Intermediate level experience in MS Excel with competency in pivot tables, sumif & vlookup formulas
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience using Xero accounting software and performing data analysis and reconciliations is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Organised and able to multitask
- Good communication skills and able to work with a high degree of accuracy
