Design Manager

We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works team based in Rickmansworth.

Location: Rickmansworth, Maple Lodge
Hours: Perm, Full Time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead design delivery on a major sewage treatment works project for Thames Water. As Design Manager, you'll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee the design process from concept through to handover, and ensure solutions are safe, compliant, buildable and sustainable. You'll work with in a collaborative Tier 1 contractor environment, providing leadership in design assurance, risk management and stakeholder coordination to deliver this important infrastructure project.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll be working within the Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works team, supporting them in delivering resilient and reliable infrastructure that protects treatment performance and safeguards the environment. Your day to day will include:

• Leading the design process across all project stages, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring delivery to agreed milestones
• Managing design assurance, governance and verification, implementing reviews and maintaining comprehensive records
• Coordinating with clients, designers, suppliers and stakeholders, communicating progress and managing design risks and changes
• Supporting construction, commissioning and handover with technical guidance and design information
• Promoting Safe by Design principles and fulfilling Designer duties under CDM 2015

What are we looking for?

This role of Design Manager is great for you if:

• You have demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and consultants within contractor-led construction or infrastructure projects
• You bring proven experience in the water industry, with understanding of water and wastewater capital delivery
• You have strong background in managing design delivery, assurance, programmes, interfaces and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• You hold a degree, HND or equivalent qualification in civil, electrical, mechanical or process engineering, or demonstrable equivalent experience
• You have membership of a relevant professional institution and hold a Full driving licence
