Science Teacher Full-Time, Long-Term Opportunity

Salary: £34,398 £ 46,839 (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)

A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Watford is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. The school has a strong focus on academic progress, inclusivity, and creating a positive learning environment where both students and staff are supported to succeed.

This role would suit a Science specialist who is keen to make an immediate impact, whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop within a supportive department.

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school welcomes specialists in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
, with opportunities to teach your subject strength while contributing to the wider Science curriculum.

• Teach Science to KS3 and KS4 students
• Deliver practical and theory-based lessons that encourage curiosity and inquiry
• Plan lessons that meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
• Assess, track, and report on student progress
• Support students in preparation for GCSE examinations
• Work collaboratively within the Science department on curriculum planning
  
  Contribute to enrichment activities such as STEM clubs or science events
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

• Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (strong unqualified candidates considered)
• Has experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
• Uses a creative and student-centred teaching approach
• Maintains high expectations and effective behaviour management
• Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply
